Coca-Cola’s long experimented with its vending machines, trying to make them more technologically advanced than the average soda-spitter-outer.

In the past, they’ve been known to give you a beverage only if you give them a hug, or if you dance or sing in front of them. Now, the beverage giant is attempting a much loftier goal: world peace.

Behind Coke’s Attempt to Unite Indians and Pakistanis with Vending Machines

this video is tears — like cryingidon’tcareitmustnotbecapitalismihopeit’sreal tears it’s so stunning

When asked why he has such a strong interest in learning everything there is to know about the technical abilities of a Starship, Kirk said he was facing one of his own fears. As a ship captain, he realizes he is not just responsible for an incredibly complex machine, but also a crew. In space, getting something just a little bit wrong is not an option. Believing that his high confidence in himself, and his crew, is his greatest tool in completing any mission, Kirk always wants to be sure that he never puts himself, or his crew, in a situation where his lack of technical knowledge increases the jeopardy of the situation. [x]

I think that a lot of the reason Jarvis has become so human is because Tony treats him like he’s human. Tony talks to Jarvis in a very colloquial way. He says “you up?” when he knows damn well that Jarvis is operational. He says “throw a little hot-rod red in there” instead of “paint components x, y, and z with red paint #20.” Tony treats all his machinery like that—Dummy and You, especially—and Jarvis is no exception.

Jarvis has become much more human since Iron Man 1. He actually displayed emotions in Iron Man 3—specifically when he feared for Tony’s life, his voice sounded terribly frightened, and in instances like the second gif where he said “I need to sleep” and not “My battery is depleted.” Jarvis has grown and changed, as any self-aware creature does. He has become human because he is treated as such.
